About the Team

Et Al. is a collective of chefs working collaboratively to build a more delicious and equitable future for the food and beverage industry in Tulsa.

The core practices that make us unique are:

  1. full and equal profit distribution for every member from their first day, and
  2. democratic governance structures.

We cook weekly, monthly, and one-time pop-ups at Foolish Things Coffee across a variety of cuisines and service styles. Check our calendar for dates, booking, and more details about each concept!

We were a semifinalist for Best New Restaurant 2023 by the James Beard Foundation, along with 30 other restaurants from across the country.

Core Values

We hold these values in high regard, using them as principles and reference points when making any decision related to our work.

Warm & Genuine Hospitality

Our approach to service is directly reflective of who we are. We aim to provide service that is approachable, loving, authentic, and of the highest quality.

Genuine & Delicious Food

We use food as a vehicle for storytelling. All the food we serve comes from a special time, place, or memory in our lives. We aim to cook with the seasons, pay close attention to every detail of each of our dishes, and provide a product that is consistently delicious.

Happy, Healthy Team

We have specific strategies and policies in place to provide team members time off, a healthy work-life balance, and an environment that strives to be free of all toxicity.

Transparency & Openness About Money

Perhaps the most practical and least abstract of our values. Every team member has access to all of our business accounting. Ninety percent of our profit is distributed equally amongst the team (with the remaining ten percent being reinvested in the business) and there are no differences in profit distribution among the team, regardless of experience. We believe that all labor is valuable.

Continuous Professional Learning

All members of our team participate in active professional learning and development. We study cooking seriously and rigorously and have specific methods for feedback as well as group and individual learning.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have vegetarian and vegan options?

We do have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free friendly offerings for many (not all) of our concepts. We recommend checking each concept's menu before coming to visit. If you have any questions about ingredients, drop us a question on the Contact page!

When are you open?

If you haven’t heard, we have a new restaurant, Natsukashii, and it is open now! On top of being an all-day Japanese restaurant, it will also be our new home for all Et Al. pop-ups and collaborations.

While we take some time to get settled in our new space and learn how to operate a full-time restaurant (dumplings now available 6 days a week!), we’ll have a brief pause on Et Al. pop-ups. But don’t worry, we’ve got fun new ideas and some great guest chefs on the docket!

In the meantime, we hope you’ll come support the team at Natsukashii! To stay up to date on the journey, follow us at @etal.tulsa or @natsukashii.tul and we’ll see you in the dining room soon.

Where are you located?

We are no longer at Foolish Things! We now have our own, brand new brick-and-mortar restaurant space called Natsukashii (opening now!). Open 6 days a week for breakfast, lunch, rascal hour, and dinner, you have more opportunities than ever to eat tasty food and support our team!

All Et Al. pop-ups and collaborations will now be hosted in the Natsukashii space. We are located in the Arts District at 14 N Cheyenne Ave. We’ve got plenty of street and lot parking available, and a beautiful new dining room to serve you in.
